Introduction

IBM Cúram SPM 7.0 released with new functionality and enhancement. IBM Cúram SPM 7.0 improved a lot of internal functionality related to UIM which was not compliance with the IBM generic design model. Also, it comes up with a new way of component categorization. Please find most common changes made in IBM Cúram SPM 7.0 below –

IBM Cúram SPM 7.0 added a new category of the component namely Application module. there are 10 Application module picketed from Enterprise and Solution module in prior release V6.0. Please find all application below –

** The Bold one are new component.

The Microsoft Edge browser, which was previously certified for usage with the external (Universal Access) application, is now also certified for use with the internal (caseworker) application.

The base level of Java to be used for building and deploying the IBM Cúram SPM application has been increased to Java 1.8.
Therefore, the Java 1.6 and 1.7 versions should no longer be used for this purpose.

The version of the Adobe Flash Player that has been certified to be used by the Social Program Management (SPM) application has been updated to 27.

The IBM Data Server drivers for JDBC and SQLJ shipped as part of Server Development Environment for Java (SDEJ) have been updated from version 3.69 to 4.21.

As part of this change, the file names have changed as outlined below. Any custom references to these files should be updated to reflect these changes.

  • db2jcc.jar is now called db2jcc4.jar
  • sqlj.zip is now called sqlj4.zip

Issue Description
The XML Server had previously been producing invalid PDF documents when there were multi-byte encoded characters in the input XML or XSL. This issue had been occurring due to the XMLServer transformer encoding which was not set by default.

User Interface Impact: No

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Include multibyte encoded character in the input XML or XSL files being used to generate PDF documents using the XML server.
  2. Generate PDF document.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed by changing the default encoding to UTF-8.
In some instances where large XML or XSL had been passed to the XMLServer for processing, the server had been throwing a StackOverflowException. To overcome this problem, a new property “java.thread.stack.size” has been introduced in the XMLServer ant script used to launch the XML Server, with a default value of -Xss4m. This value sets the Java thread stack size as 4 Mb to accommodate large XML or XSL files for processing. This size can be overridden by setting a different value for the “java.thread.stack.size” property using the “-Djava.thread.stack.size” build command syntax as shown below when launching the XMLServer:

  • ant -Djava.thread.stack.size=”-Xss8m” -f xmlserver.xml

(Note: the above example with the “java.thread.stack.size” property value as -Xss8m sets the Java thread stack size as 8 Mb)

The IBM Cúram UI has been updated to comply with IBM Design Language. Users get the visual benefits of the new UI without the navigational overhead of familiarizing themselves with radically different page layouts. There are no changes in the structure of the UI pages.
Universal Access and IEG pages, which have a different look and feel to the rest of the application, are unchanged. SPM V7.0 is supported on desktops and laptops only.
The summary of UI Improvements –

  • Increased Space Between Touch Targets
  • Selected States
  • Increased Fond Size
  • High Contrast
  • Color Palette

In V6, the minimum recommended screen resolution for the application was 1024×768 (aspect ratio 4:3). In V7.0, the minimum recommended resolution has been increased to 1366×768 (aspect ratio 16:9), which allows the application to take advantage of the wide-screen monitors that are widely available nowadays.

The IBM Cúram V7.0 added Progress Spinner Icon when loading a new page or submitting the form like Submit Person Registration, Create a Deduction etc.

  • Submitting a modal
  • Opening a new page
  • Clicking the Next button by a user in IEG

The UI dismisses the spinner once the load request returns a result:

  • Successful load
  • Unsuccessful load, including application server error, page expiry error, or license error

The V7.0 log-in page has been changed to set the tone for the rest of the new look and feel of the application. The whitespace of the V6 log-in page has been replaced with the current Watson Health color scheme and icon. The new log-in page acts as a visual cue that prepares the user for the V7.0 UI.

The Application Banner in V7.0 features several changes. The Quick Search feature has been moved into the Application Banner, which enables users to perform searches directly from the application banner. In addition, users can access the Preferences, About, and Log Out features directly from a menu in the Application Banner. The currently logged-on user’s role is no longer displayed in the Application Banner.

The BIRT charts in V7.0 have been redesigned to make them easier to read. The components of the charts now consist of slimmer shapes that occupy less space and consequently reside on larger areas of whitespace. The slimmer shapes and additional whitespace make the charts more legible and the data they present quicker to grasp at a glance.
