Eclipse : Set Java File Format And Set Font Size


Introduction


Eclipse is very popular IDE (Integrated Development Environment) tool which used by more than 80% of Java/J2ee developer in across the world. There are many functionalities which developer can set so it can benefit while developing a project.
Every Developer comes across common issues like formatting a file and setting font size. This tutorial will focus on formatting and set Font Size. Please follow step by step instruction below –


Formatting a Java File


it is very important to set the java format in your eclipse but sometimes it annoyed as it format full file even though developer just updated one line of code. It is very tough to compare when the whole file formatted and everyone wants to just format the updated lines.
We can do configuration so it will format only updated lines of code in place of the whole file.

  • Launch the eclipse
  • Navigate to Window option from the top of the eclipse and click on Preferences option

  • Once clicked on Preferences then it will open Preferences Page

  • Navigate Java – > Editor -> Save Actions
  • Select Checkbox and Radio button as per below-given screenshot


Set the Fond For Java File


  • Launch the eclipse
  • Navigate to Window option from the top of the eclipse and click on Preferences option

  • Once clicked on Preferences then it will open Preferences Page

  • Navigate General- > Appearance -> Colors and Fonts
  • Select whatever user wants to Edit. For Example select Java Editor Text

  • Clicked on Edit and set Font, Font Styles & Font Size.
  • Clicked on OK to and Apply to set these changes permanently.
